Short Description:

The purpose of these classes is to help dogs learn and practice obedience under all types of conditions, environments, and distractions, starting with the five basic commands: sit, down, heal, stay and come. As the dog progresses, the number of commands, exercises, and the level of difficulty increases drastically. The final desired result is to have a well-mannered, confident, and well-behaved dog under all situations.

At the very end of the main road through Markim, near Camp Run-A-Muck. As the camp is closed on weekends, herders may park in front of the camp

Instint test: $35 (Required). Classes: $60/class or $150 for 3 classes

 

Requirements:

Herding Instinct test is required to evaluate dog’s suitability for taking these classes. Please call for information or set your appointment at the front desk.

Short Description:

The purpose of these classes is to teach dogs to herd livestock in a controlled manner. Because of the high energy state dogs may be in around livestock, herding classes are great to build a strong relationship between the dog and the handler. Learn more...

 
Agility

Requirements:

Evaluation of dog required. All new students not starting at the Foundation level must do a half (1/2) an hour private lesson to asses the best class for them. Please set your appointment with the trainer.

Short Description:

The purpose of these classes is teach dogs the sport of agility through fun exercises and games. Through these classes, dogs learn to channel their energy constructively, gain confidence and have fun while increasing the bond with their handlers. Agility is a great exercise and is fun!

Short Description:

Rattlesnakes are found throughout the southwest in areas that dogs love to explore. A bite from a rattlesnake can severely injure or even kill your dog. Our rattlesnake avoidance training will teach your dog how to recognize the scent, sound and sight of any rattlesnake they encounter and how to avoid them. If you want to participate in this training, you can expedite the process of registering by calling Markim to reserve your spot and by printing and filling out the following form.
